Biscuits selling
Waimarino girl guides sold their biscuits door to door on Saturday 14 March without having the problems with dogs other areas experienced. Leader Margaret Martin said "the response was average, but there are still more biscuits to sell". She said thank you to the helpers who sold biscuits and to the people who bought them. Selling biscuits is the major fund raising activity the guides do each year and the profits are normally enough to cover their annual expenses of rent, levies to headquarters, training leaders, insurance and accident compensation levy. Extra funds are
from subs the girls pay each term and for speciai events such as jamborees more fund raising has to be done. If anyone wishes to buy more biscuits they can contact Lynn Price at Raetihi Pharmacy. Browns are held on Mondays from 3 -30pm to 5pm for girls aged 710 years old. The leaders are Margaret Martin and Judy Todd. Guides are held Thursdays form 6.30pm to 8pm for girls 10 -14 years old. The leaders are Stephany Rogers and Lee McCann. These sessions are held at the Scout Hall Queen Street Raetihi. When 14 the girls can go on to be a Ranger. ,
