$3000 for Mtns to Sea race

Organisers of the Lifespan Mountains to the Sea race asked the council for $6000 for guarantied coverage of the area in the video they produce on the event. The council Promotions and Development Subcommittee has recommended they be given $3000 for the video. Committee member Scott Lee suggested the council give $2000 as a sign of good faith along with a letter explaining the council's situation. Mr Cosford said the council would be blind not to support the race. Mayor Garrick Workman said the money could come from The annual $20,000 given to the council by Electricorp. Mr Lee said the race would be an appropriate investment for the money. In recommending that $3000 be given, the committee said the amount should be reviewed next year.
