A 70 year old cyclist from France, Joseph Capielle, is cycling around the world for the third time. He had a rest stop at Waiouru's 'Welcome Inn' after his tramp over Ngauruhoe and before heading south to Wellington on his bike. Although this is his third world trip, it is his first time around New Zealand. "It's a very friendly, beautiful country, full of lakes, mountains and volcanoes," Joseph said. He said the reason he keeps so fit is because of his diet of veges, cheese, fruit and bread, no smoking and no drinking. He plans to take three months cycling around New Zealand, with his next stop Tahiti.
