A group of third formers ventured up to Mangawhero Lodge for their two day camp recently, staying overnight in tents. During the camp they not only got to know one another better, but also learnt useful skills such as co-oper-ating within their group, orienteering, following instructions and crossing rivers with limited resources. The third formers of Ruapehu college expressed their appreciation to Conservation Officer Rob McCallum, from Tongariro National Park for giving an interesting speech on

bush survival which helped them a great deal. Both teachers and students said they felt the camp was a great success and was enjoyed by all.
