New Waiouru BOT lead

BY JO HOWIE Four new Board of Trustee members were elected late November last year. They have filled the positions that were left vacant due to Board members moving out of the area. National elections are still to be held in August 1992. Mertyn Dunne's position as Chairpcrson has been filled by John Masson. Bob Bulman, Anthony Greeve and (Pinky) Errol Clarke arb the other successful applicants.

John Masson's profile reads: I have a genuine interest in the education of our children, and I believe we all have a responsibility to contribute to our community and this is a good opportunity to do so. "My personal views on education at the Primary School level are relatively conservative. I believe in a balanced education with emphasis on the three R's. I also believe it is at Primary School that the basic human values such as

honesty, loyalty and responsibility are fostered. I am a strong supporter of team-work and to this end hold parents and teachers equally responsibility for our children's education. "I believe the current Board of Trustees leaves the school management in good shape. My aim will be to build on this foundation but- in particular develop a greater sense of teamwork and trust among the Board, Headmaster, teachers and parents."
