"Phone for you" - from the pub
Last week Warwick and Willie Mclntrye, owners of the Oasis Hotel in Waiouru, presented the Waiouru Police, Pat Tasker and Chris Scales with a mo-
bile phone. The generous donation has made the Waiouru Police one of the few stations that have access to a mobile phone, and* considering
the area the police cover, the Oasis Hotel owners consider this a 'most worthy donation'. "The mobile phone will enable us to have contact with the com-
munity through the working day," said Constable Pat Tasker, "and that is important as we are out of the station most of the time." He advised that if you
should need the police, contact the station on 387 6884 first, and if you get the answerphone machine you will be able to leave a message or obtain the mobile phone number. If it
is an emergency, call 111. The mobile phone was purchased through donations made to the coin machines at the Oasis Hotel and the Lion Foundation.
