Xmas no-thanks

• To the pathetic SLOB who left her undesirable in the letter booth at the Raetihi Tennis Club. Obviously your mind is very unstable at this stage in your life, maybe psychiatric help is necessary to help your sick head. I hope you are proud of yourself because no-one else will be. And to the person or persons who broke in to the club, I hope you choke on the drinks. And a Merry Xmas to you too.

Club Captain The following is a reply to C.J. Ryland's letter (see page 8 - "Water answers"). • The Council has received a communication from Dobson Brothers Limited legal advisers regarding the nonawarding of a contract to it. In these circumstances it would be inappropriate for me to comment publicly on a matter that may be subject to litigation. The decision to award the contract to a New Plymouth firm was made by myself on the basis of the professional advice that I received. There is no bias towards the north or for that matter any other parts of the compass.
