Raetihi award presented

Ross Journeaux was presented with the Raetihi Citizenship Award last week for his outstanding services to the community. He received the award at the Waimarino Community Board meeting from board chairman Colin Webb, for his many years of voluntary

work for various organisations such as Scouts, Raetihi Swimming Club and the Waimarino Museum Society. "He has also contributed over the years towards the success of the Raetihi Volunteer Fire Brigade, especially in the areas of technical electrical service," said

his nominator. "You do these community services because you are interested in doing it, but it is very nice being thanked," said Mr Journeaux. Mr Journeaux was the officer in charge of the Waimarino area for the Wanganui Rangitikei Electric Power Board for many years.
