The Clydesdales are coming!
The Waimarino A&P Show, February 1992
BY
RIC
Ihe dates 13-10 February are set for next year's Waimarino A&P show and the feature attraction will be the DB Clydesdale team who will lead the grand parade at the Raetihi Show Grounds. Last year the show was reasonably well attended and the organisers are hoping the DB Clydesdales will attract people from further afield. There
will be time for young and old to admire the magnificent animals and appreciate their size. Other activities will include a homebrew section, and if last years' standards are anything to go by competitors might get international recognition! Local beer and wine home-brewers are urged to start brewing now. On Saturday and Sunday there will be show-
jumping for all classes and levels of riders. There will be pet parades, a pet lamb competition, and best sheep competitions run by Colin Allerby. Beef classes, pure breed open to registered and nonregistered animals will also be judged. A fun run from the Waimarino Golf Club to the showgrounds, with spot prizes, is also planned.
Home cooking, sewing, handcrafts, cut flowers, vegetables and much more will be in the produce shed. There will be trade stalls, craft stalls, and stalls for community groups and clubs. There is a small fee per stall. Clubs are
urged to go to the show to demonstrate their activity, where it takes place, and what they need in the way of community support. Further details will be available from the Raetihi Information Centre in January.
