Weed $s approved
The Ruapehu District Council voted $750 in additional funding for spraying the noxious weed Clematis Vitalba ('Old Man's Beard') in the Waimarino Ward. Council approved the
request after learning that the Waimarino Rotary Club had cut and pulled the weed from parks and reserve areas as well as from several river banks within the Waimarino area.
