Ohakune bridge

A variation of movement was tried at bridge on Wednesday 16 October. Although it sounded complicated the evening passed without anyone playing the same board twice. However it did mean that, although twentyone boards were played, some east-west pairs played eighteen boards while others only played fifteen boards, giving them maximum attainable points of 108 and 90 respectively. Our friends from KeriKeri, Lloyd and Arlene Purdie took first place north-south with 58.73%. Second were Ron Martin and Heather Cranston with 54.76%. The east-west competition was won by Tani Blackburn and Bob Tumataroa with 64.81% Iand Rita Kaiwhare and Betty Hammond scored 52.78% to take second place.

The winners in the recently completed mixedpairs competition were announced and are as follows. lst Tani Blackburn, 2nd Jenny Mottram, 3rd Bev Cox, 4th Jim Cranston.
