Making a submission
Submissions can be simple statements from any individual or group, They can be well-devel-oped, lengthy structured documents, or singleline statements. Key points to remember: • Ask for what you want: express it simply and clearly; give some alternatives if possible and say what is most important. • Make it easy for the reader to agree with you. • Structure of your submission: -Keep it simple. -State why you have an interest and how it will affect you. -Give some practical examples. -Make a general statement about the
overall issues. -Take the points you want to make one at a time. -If more than two pages, give a summary of key points. - If your submission is oral, say "I want to make four points..." then outline each of them in a phrase one at a time. • Who are you making the submission to and what is their role? • What decision are they making? • What is your expertise?
