Arts group in new building

The Waimarino Arts & Cratts group held their annual meeting recently in their new premises, the works and ways office at the Ohakune Junction Railway complex. Club secretary Dorothy Battersby said there was a very good attendance at the meeting including several new members. President Dorothy McNie presented her report, citing a busy year's work behind the club including making of crafts for sale through a Wanganui outlet, as well as a successful market day for Christmas 1990. Painting days were enjoyed as well as crochet, basket making and demonstration mornings, said Mrs McNie in her report. The club's new rooms are now available for use and it is hoped members will make good use of them in the coming year. Officers for this year are: president Dorothy McNie, treasurer Hazel Wallace, secretary Dorothy Battersby.
