Cancer support group to consider wider arena

The Waimarino Can- ! cer Support Group is calling a meeting to consider extending its operations to take in support for sufferers of other health problems. Group representative Valarie Parkes said the group was now going well and members had suggested it may be time to extend it to run a support group in conjunction with the Cancer Society group. "There are a lot of other people in the community who need that kind of support as well," said Mrs Parkes. Anyone with ideas and suggestions on the subject is invited to a public meeting at the Ruapehu Lions Den in Arawa Street, 2pm on Monday 21 October.
