Rotary speakers
The Raetihi-Ohakune rotary Club has enjoyed a unique programme of speakers this year and looks forward to a continued quality of guest addresses during the 1992 year, said club president Mark Clements recently. Included in the list of those who have addressed the club at regular Wednesday evening meetings are: Errol Vincent, (speaking about alternative medicine); Mayor Garrick Workman,(varied district council
initiatives); Bishop Brian Carrell, (values for living); AuthorHistorian Tony Simpson, (anew perspective of the current economic decline as viewed from an historical perspective); John Macdonald, (for the Blind Foundation); Rotary also joined with others attending a recent dinner at the Ruapehu Hotel to hear the Rt. Hon. Jim Bolger, Prime Minister. As the club looks forward they await visits from Bill Taylor,
October 9 (successful childrens' book author); David Seifert, October 16 ( veterinary surgeon), Jim Bull, October 23 (successful New Zealand entrepreneur); Dave Thorp, October 30 (general secretary of the New Zealand Public Service Association); Jim Anderton, November 6 (founder and leader of the New Labour Party); Sergei Garmonin, November 27 (first secretary at the Embassy of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). A visit has
also been arranged from a representative of the German Embassy later in the year.
