Ruapehu College has had an eventful week, in some cases and an uneventful in other cases. The annual cross country was postponed from Tuesday, to Thursday, to Friday to Monday 7 October 1991. While Wednesday was fine and surmy it clashed with our Club day. Photographs from the Senior Ball were avail- . able for viewing and comment. This caused a traffic jam outside Room 1 so they were moved to the Library. There were many anxious onlookers. The pictures taken
by Richard Milne, were of a professional standard although some were taken at unusual angles. Wednesday afternoon is for Clubs, including chocolate making, badminton, magazine, railway history and rollerblading.which has a huge following. Thursday saw the students finishing at 12.30pm because of a teachers 'stop work meeting'. Also on Thursday, a defensive driving course, organised by Mr Parker began for budding drivers. This course ran for two days. A catering course took place in the home eco-
nomics room over a two day period. A tutor from Wanganui Polytech, Gina Wagstaff, was present to take a 10-hour course involving 10 students. Planned menus, various jobs in restaurants and preparing and serving meals to friends and some staff were covered. A certificate was presented to attendees for tasks covered. Mr Ken Summerhays, a member of the Waimarino Gun Club, spent 20 hours with 10 pupils on firearms, safety and appreciation.
