Saturday ski races
The second series of New Zealand Ski Association races at Whakapapa gets underway next Saturday. Most of New Zealand's top skiers will compete in the 'Ski Ycr Heart Out Slalom and Haensli Cup races. The Haensli Cup has been competed for at Whakapapa since 1951. Walter Haensli was the first post-war Chicf Instructor at the Chatcau and along with Sir Brian Todd was instrumental in setting up RAL by arranging the purchase of chairlifts from his homeland of Switzcrland. Because of its history, the Cup is one of the most prestigious races on the N.Z.S.A. calendar. This year the series is sponsored by Ski Yer Heart Out.
