Parking blitz
Police are currently joining with Ministry of Transport officers in a blitz on illegal parking in Ohakune, especially Clyde Street, Thames Street and Mangawhero Terrace. "There are people about who seem to be of the opinion that parking rules don't apply here," said Sergeant Bob Evans. He said the officers would now be writing out infringement tickets rather than the previous warnings.
