Raetihi information centre opened
Raetihi now has its own information centre, in Seddon Street. The Raetihi Promotions Group has organised the centre, to be run for a trial period through the three weeks of the school holidays. Raetihi plumber John Dobson has loaned a vacant shop at the front ef his premises. "It is in an ideal location for people turning into Raetihi and is a pleasant building to display information about our district," said group spokesperson Bernice Frost. Ruapehu South Business spokesperson Sue Allomes is enthusiastic about Raetihi getting into gear and has offered any help the Association can give. "Barbara Anderson is one of the hardcst workers in sctting up the lists of information required, and collecting pamphlets for the display," said Bernice. She said all district activities are invitcd to supply the with details of their cvents or services. Ziggy Bauer, the world class ultra-distance runner, will be the main volunteer to man the centre with five Raetihi women also helping out.
