Parents asked to help in Raetihi petty crime fight

Police appeal to Raetihi people to secure their property, and to parents to keep proper control and care of their children following the recent spate of petty burglaries and other crime. Police Sergeant Bob Evans said it seemed there were many parents who did not have proper care of their children and that some accepted their children bringing home various articles without question. "Please be aware of what your children do and don't own," he said. Following the burglaries a 14 year old and a 17 year old have been apprehended in Raetihi.
