Daffodils sold for cancer support

Daffodils are beginning to grace the place with spring approaching but next week a big boost to their numbers here will be provided thanks to Daffodil Day. The Waimarino Cancer Support Group are joining with others around the country to sell daffodils to raise money for the Society. Daffodil Day this year is Friday 30 August. The local group will also hold street stalls in Raetihi and Ohakune on the same day, selling anything people are willing to donate for the cause. Planned for this stage are cakes, books, plants, vegetables and preserves. Goods can be dropped in to Pat Olds at Family Affair in Raetihi and Ragtime or Ohakune Shoes in Ohakune.
