Last of netball
Saturday was the last day of netball for the 1991 season. A round Robin tournament was held. The games were delayed due to the conditions of the courts as they were icy. Raetihi were the winners of Closing Day with Navy Runner up. The Association would like to take this opportunity to thank the Ruapehu Bulletin for publishing our results and draw for the season. We really appreciate this and Waimarino Darts club Singles evening Winner, Peter Zohs with 5 wins. Runnerup, Irene Araitanga with 4 wins. Highest start Peter Zohs 120; Highest finish Nancy Parata, 59; Highest score, Hira Parata 125. The Waimarino club sent their "F team" to Ohakune to give Ohakune a bit of confidencem, claims Waimarino, who lost 28-8. They warn Ohakune: "Just wait for the return visit, we might send the B team!"
extra special thanks to St Johns for being at the courts every Saturday. The presentation Dinner will be held on the 16 August, all names and money must be in at the meeting of Wednesday 7 August. Ohakune Darts Club Wednesday 31 July results, Ohakune vs Waimarino: This turned out to be an enjoyable night. There were some close games. Ohakune beat Waimarino 28 games to 8, but Waimarino players scored well. Highest start of 120 by Daniel, highest score of 140 by Greg Windle. Kevin Mcllroy had the highest finish of 113. John McQuarrie and Neil Cranston were the overall winners in the singles and doubles. The club has one game each and the final "test match" will be held at the Waimarino club at the end of this month. Thanks went to Waimarino for the fun evening and to La Club for supplying supper.
