Youth grants

Applications are now being sought for grants from young people aiming for special projects, either academic, musical, artistic, vocational or sporting, to the Mike

Hansen Memorial Education Foundation. The foundation was formed to acknowledge the achievements of a leading Rotarian and orthodontist, Mike Hansen. The trust has in the past given money to individuals such as a music graduate who wanted to study piano with a world reknown teacher in Caracas, Venezuela; a disabled skier who took part in the World Ski Championships for the Disabled in Europe; and to a young women to attend courses in Europe to expand her knowledge in the preservation of endangered species. Applications close in early August and more information can be obtained from Rotary or from the Trust secretary, P.O.Box 1245 Palmerston North, (06) 356 4808.
