Bridge

The Bridge evening on Wednesday 17 July started with President Brian Eades welcoming back to the club Elaine Goldfinch along with Glenda Whale who is a new member. There were 22 members present and 22 boards played over 5 1/2 tables in a Howell movement. There were some interesting boards with some unusual distribution which led to some unusual contracts being bid. Pauline Le Noel and Lauretta Eades were undaunted by the unusual distribution and finished in first place with 117 points - 73.13% of a possible 160 points. Mark Hays and Bob Tumataroa were 20 points behind in 2nd place with 60.63%. Only eight points seperated the next three place-getters who were Rita Kaiwhare and Betty Hammond with 56.88%, Brian Eades and Alison McGregor with 55.63% and in 5 th place were Tracy Ennis and Les Burns with 51.88%.
