Disgusting dumps soon to be tidied
Ohakune's disgusting dump should soon be back up to scratch, area manager Don Sattler assured the Waimarino Community Board at their last meeting. He said new tenders were soon to be let for maintaining the Ohakune, and the Raetihi dumps and that the new contracts would be able to be much better policed. Cr Ellen Gould said she found it strange that the road out to the dump could be in such a terrible state while such a good job of picking up rubbish was being carried out in the towns.
