Rural radio cuts
Federated Farmers has expressed deep concern at the apparent unfairness to rural areas in Radio New Zealand cutbacks. Federation president Owen Jenkins said he understands National Radio's rural team of reporters has been cut by half while other areas have been cut by 25 per cent. tional Radio's urban listeners," said Mr Jennings. "Any loss of rural news service is most disturbing." Waimarino darts There was a srrrall tum out for the singles competition on 4 June. Greg Windle won the highest score with a tatai of 140. Highest finish went to Hira Parata with 138 and highest start was Jack Williams with 120. Once again Greg Windle won the evening with Barry Drinkwater and Jackie Williams runners-up. There were some very good scores thrown during the evening.
