Raetihi garden AGM

The Raetihi garden Club held its annual meeting at D Scarrow's Valley Road home on 30 May. Members and guests enjoyed a relaxed pot luck lunch and friendly social get-together before the meeting Locheen Punch stood

down as president and the members acknowledged the tremendous effort she has put into the garden club, a posy of flowers was presented to Locheen in appreciation The new committee is President A Seiffert, Secretary L Graham,

Cluster; lst H Oliver, 2nd L Graham, 3rd H Wiggins. Shrub; lst L Graham, 2nd H Oliver, 3rd K Journeaux Conifer; lst D Scarrow, 2nd L Graham, 3rd H Oliver. Berries; lst L Graham, 2nd D Scarrow, 3rd J Nutting. Locheen awarded prizes for the 19901991 points prize. These prizes are for the monthly competitions added up over the year: lst was H Wiggins, 2nd L Graham, 3rd A

Seifert. The Civic Garden awards were also presented. This competition is judged twice a year by members of the garden club. It is judged from the road of all Raetihi houses.lst L&C Ryland, 2nd K&J Pearson,3rd E&AMcLean, 4th M Wamer. Those who paid subs on the day were given a free perennial. Following the meeting Debbie Alabaster gave an interesting talk on gentians, which are exported to Japan. She also showed videos and talked about her trip to Japan. The garden club is open to anyone, meeting every 4 Thursday of the month, usually in someones home. Those interested in joining can contact L Graham 54234 or A Seifert 54779.
