Many local youths joined them in the activities during the week as well as many people from as far away as Hastings and Gisborne, making about 80 people. The group attended the wananga at Te Puke Marae in Raetihi from 17 to 19 Mat and then continued to Makakahi where they stayed at Doug Prince's Toktokerau property. On the Monday they looked around the area and went crayfishing and on Tuesday a fivehour walk to Papatupu along the Man-
