Helping a World away

While the plight of the Kurds and the Bangladeshi people may seem too far away to offer effective help, it is surprisingly easy to make a contribution towards the intemational efforts on their behalf. Bank of New Zealand branches throughout the country are taking donations on behalf of the Salvation Army and the Red Cross for the appeals. With branches or agencies in Raetihi, Ohakune and Waiouru it is very easy to detour to their counters to hand over as little or as much as you can afford. Often it seems making donations is a futile effort, just throwing money at the problem. But by not giving you are definitely not helping. It is an effective means by which people like us, a world away frorri the problem, can offer help.
