Wananga at Te Puke marae

A wananga is to be held at Te Puke Marae in Raetihi on the weekend of 17-19 May. The wananga is being held for Ngati Uenuku from all over the country to gather at home. It is hoped that the young people especially will come to learn about their identity. The kaupapa for the weekend is basic tikanga maori, marae format, whakapapa and waiata. Organisers are hoping for over two hundred people. The powhiri is at 4pm on Friday.
