Rangipo filmed for explorer's drama
A film crew is in the area this week working on a historical drama about New Zealand explorers. The crew, based in Ohakune, are filming scenes in the Rangipo Desert. The shoot is part of the third episode of the three-part drama and is about the missionary William Colenso who was the first European to discover a route from the Hawke's Bay to the Central Volcanic Plateau.
