Bungy bounce back

Bungy jumping is bouncing back into Ohakune soon, with negotiations under way between the Conservation Department and the company that started it commercially, A.J. Hackett Bungy. Bungy managers Craig Biggs and Len Smyth are working with DoC and Railways on a concession and access details to set up a year-round commercial bungy operation at the historic Ha-

pu whenua Viaduct. Experienced bungy operators from Queenstown will be joining the Ohakune team in two weeks, said Mr Biggs, and the site is expected to be open from Queen's Birthday weekend. A.J. Hackett bungy jumping is represented in New Zealand in Auckland, Queenstown and overseas in Cairns and Karanda in Australia and Normandy in France.
