Bridge

A total of twenty boards were played by the North-South pairs on Wednesday 17 April. Each board was worth the maximum of six points. Tracy Ennis and Fr Bernie Vella scored a commendable 84 points, or 74 per cent of a possible 120, to take first place. Second place getters were Lyn Brannigan and Goldie Fraser with 58.33 per cent. Because of an uneven number of pairs the East-West pairs only played 16 boards which meant their scores were a percentage of a maximum of 96. First place East-West went to Tephany Bennett and Pauline Le Noel with 60.41 per cent. Betty Hammond and Rita Kaiwhare scored 56.25 per cent to take second place.
