Anglican news

Although the Anglican church is at present without a vicar, life in the parish continues with services in Raetihi and Ohakune. Every second week there is a service at 9 am in Ohakune and a 10am service in Raetihi weekly followed by fellowship over morning tea. Pat Olds and Dorothy McNie take services regularly and our retired vicar Bob Peck comes as often as he can as guest celebrant thus being able to offer communion, his help is much appreciated. The new prayer book

introduced in 1989 is used for all services and the church has its own supply as will as some regular members owning their own. It was nearly 30 years in preparation and written for New Zealand and the Pacific Area. Every service includes hymns either from 'with one voice' or modern choruses from 'Songs of the Kingdom'. A follow up outreach weekend is to be held over the last weekend in July with Peter Alfrey, and his team. A programme is being drawn up at present and if anyone has any ideas phone Pat Olds 54 413 day 54142 evening.
