These are Women's Health, People with Disabilities and Workers/Low income. Role of Advjsory Committee? The Advisory Committees will provide independent advice to the Board. They will advise on policies referred to them by the Board and advise on the heath and needs of their area of interest to the Board. Membership There are 13 members on each committee. • 6 members reflect the service/client group concerned and each represent one of the following six geographical districts - Wanganui, Palmerston North, Manawatu, Rangitikei, Tararua, Horowhenua. • 2 Maori representatives. • 1 member of the Manawatu Wanganui Area Health Board. • The General Manager of the Manawatu - Wanganui Area Health Board or his management representative. • 3 service providers representing public, private and voluntary. Membership should, where possible, reflect the whole region of the Board. Cost and Suppbrt Services Members of advisory committees shall be paid fees and expenses as per the Board's policy on remuneration to Board Members and Members of standing committees. Selection of Committee Members Nominations will be called for the geographical nominees at public meetings. Self-selection will take place with a recommendation to the Board. Maori representation for all three committees will be decided through the regional iwi committee that has recently been established. Public nominations will be sought for the service providers representing public, private and voluntary sectors. Meetings to explain the Advisory Committees and receive nominations will be held in your district as follows: Wednesday 17 April - Taihape.
