Tumblers in Wanganui

The Turoa Tumblers1 junior gymnasts competed in the Wanganui Manawatu Junior Open Championship at the weekend in Wanganui. Level three girls Shelly Gotlieb, Sarah Lind, Ei Leen Voon, Karen Richards and Laura Scully did well in this their first competition. Level four girls Jenny Murdie, Katrina Marsh and Jessie Pope had their ups and downs but Jenny vaulted well enough to be placed third. JLevel five girls Kelly Swain, Denise Waera, Kerri Allerby and Coralie Abbott competed well with Kelly scoring in the 8's on all

apparatus and was third on the floor. Boys grade 10 Reece Morrisey, Brian Hays, Dwayne Marsh and Ben Mazey had a dream competition. All boys were placed on all apparatus and Reece and Brian were first over all with Dwayne second and Ben third, plus they were the winning team. Boys grade 7 Andrew Murdie, Scott Mazey, Scot Nation and John Hays had a challenging competition with some excellent results. Scott Mazey being placed second on floor and third on parallel bars and vault and Andrew coming second on vault.
