No support for towns programme
The Waimarino doesn't have the manpower to take up the Keep New Zealand Beautiful towns programme, the Waimarino Community Board has decided. The board heard at their last meeting that a meeting of interested people, organised by the Raetihi and Ohakune garden clubs, had decided they did not have the resources and people to carry out the programme. At the WCB meeting Councillor Ellen Gould said the programme had been tried at times by past local authorities and had never really got off the ground.
