Course for job seekers
The New Zealand Employment Service will be holding a course this week for local people who want to apply for jobs with Turoa Ski Resort Ltd and associated businesses involved in tourism. Jan Lawton, Employment Advisor said the course will be in two parts, the first part is this Thursday and Friday concentrating on what jobs are available and how to apply and the
second part on the 1819 April which addresses interview skills. The course is open to anyone, with the aim of helping local people compete effectively for local jobs. Mrs Lawton believes there are real advantages in employing local people. She said for example, local people do not have accommodation problems and they spend money they earn locally.
