Christie Park upgrade decision recalled

The New Zealand Winter Games organisers would like the Christie Park netball courts upgraded so they could be used for this year's event. The Waimarino Community Board discussed the NZWG request at their last meeting,, recalling that the work had already been requested under the expenditure of Ohakune Borough Council reserves funds. Board member John Compton recalled that a report had been called for on the state of the fund some time ago. Mayor Garrick Workman told the board that the council officers had had some difficulty determining how much I such special funds were and that they had been working with the audit department on the matter. He said the funds will have accrued interest. The board decided to wait for further information before deciding on a course of action.
