Ohakune bowls

The Ohakune Bowling Green was described last Sunday by Turangi's Greenkeeper to be the best improved green in the North Island. With all the work local volunteers have done the Ohakune green is in a condition making it as fast as some Wanganui greens . In two recent tournaments run by the Ohakune Mens Bowling

Club results were: Mixed Open tournament: winners - Vi Brown (skip), Alf Kahukaka, Denis Brown, Jack McLean,. Runners up, Ken George (skip) Tony Mosaed, Merrilyn George, Ngaire Burrows. Wanganui Motors sponsored tournament: Winners Theo Wylie (Turangi), Runner up Daphne Tong (Taihape).
