Wanganui bowls

Ken George (skip) and Mark Clements (lead) did extremely well in the recent Wanganui Men's Open Pairs Bowling Championships. There were 162 pairs in the strong field including Commonwealth Games representative Peter Bellis and NZ Singles Runner-up Champion Bruce Winterburn. The local team qualified with three wins after the first days' play having lost one game to Bruce Winterburn. They played in the post section competition progressing to the final 16 teams. Winterburn eventually won the contest.
