Insurance concern for rail group

One of the decisions taken at last weeks meeting of the Preservation of the Ohakune Railway Station group (PORS) was to investigate the cost of and responsibility for insuring the building. This was considered to be a matter of urgency in view of the restoration work being carried out at present. It was decided to contact New Zealand Rail which retains ownership of the platform and canopy and the Ruapehu District Council, who has acquired the building, to ascertain the position.
