Soldier's bills not from Waiouru AGI
Waiouru s Army Garrison Institute was not the store that continued to send bills to the family of one of the soldiers who died on Ruapehu last year, the Bulletin has been informed. Much of the national publicity about the Army's treatment of the soldiers' families has included reference to bills being sent from army stores for gear bought by one of the soldiers prior to the tragic alpine course. AGI Waiouru manager Ray Blackmore said the bills were sent from the Linton AGI and not from Waiouru. He said he understood the bills were sent to the soldier's family under the instructions of Bravo Company, but that they had since been sent to the family's solicitors, which is usually the practice in such cases.
