Obituary - Edith Moore

Edith Marjorie Moore was well known in the area for her involvement in local authority administration. Mrs Moore died at her

home in Ohakune after a long illness, though she had worked until three weeks before her death. In 1978 she joined the Ohakune Borough Council as a senior office clerk-typist and in 1981 was appointed assistant town clerk, then town clerk-treasurer in 1984. She worked through the changes from borough and county councils in the Waimarino to the Waimarino District Council, taking on the job of secretary of the council. Then in 1989 she became administration officer for the new Ruapehu District Council and last year was appointed as administration manager.

She was a member of the society of local government managers and an Institute of Local Authority Management. She leaves behind her husband Graeme who is on the Winstone Pulp Intemational management staff, and their children Deborah, Jacquelin and Marcus.
