Rescue chopper active

The Waimarino Rescue Helicopter has been busy of late, carrying out a number of rescues and patient airlifts. On Saturday 23 February a man was airlifted from bush in the Makakahi Valley with chest injuries. On 16 February a 16 year-old girl with head injuries was lifted off a cliff face near Taihape. She had fallen down a cliff into a river while trying to climb down to go fishing. Wednesday last week a car accident victim was flown from south of Waiouru to Palmerston North Hospital. Other incidents the Wanganui Aero Works helicopter has been involved with included a Parapara farm motor bike accident, a Taihape farm bike accident, and a sea rescue off Wanganui.
