Radio revenge

Ted Bates of Tangiwai has a reputation, so we're told, of shooting at anything that keeps him awake at night but when it's his own dogs he faces . a dilemma - chase sheep himself (without dogs), during the day or teach the dogs to count sheep at night. One night recently his dogs barked all night long despite the odd shot across the bows of the kennels. Next day he puzzled all and sundry by collecting all the extension cords he could find, plugging them together from the shed up to the kennel where he set up an old radio, tuned to the scratchiest, squelchiest station he could find. What for? Revenge. Next day the dogs were very dopey from lack of sleep from the all-night party. The question remains, dod Ted get any sleep?
