200 valuation objections received

Of more than 200 objections to the new Valuation New Zealand capital and land valuations in the Ruapehu District, most are from the Waimarino. Area managing district valuer Mark Johannsen said objectors in Raetihi and Ohakune felt, while valuations had dropped, that they had not dropped enough. He said there was a mix of reasons for objecting and no strong trend and that the number of objections was not a surprise. VNZ would re-inspect the properties over the coming months and meet with owners.
