Bungy concession up for grabs

Ohakune's bungy jumping business is going begging, with the lapse of the previous concession to operate at the Hapuawhenua Viaduct. Ohakune DoC Field Centre Manager Lisle Irwin said there had been some interest shown in taking up the concession but that the department is yet to receive an official application. He said there is no reason for the bungy jumping not to continue at the bridge as far as DoC is concerned. A number of service people have told the Bulletin that requests for information about Ohakune bungy jumping are made regularly.
