Parapara confrontation

Allegedly a firearm was produced and shots were fired in the incident which led to an Armed offenders Squad call out. Police said there were two opposing groups involved in the incident but at the time of going to print, police had not said if gangs were involved.

Police said a dispute escalated into a confrontation near Otoko Pa where police later found a fire-gutted Chrysler V aliant car and a van. Two people had been arrested on Friday in Wanganui. One for possession of an offensive weapon, and the other

for the illegal possession of a firearm. Enquiries were still continuing in Ohakune, National Park, Wanganui and Taumarunui into a firearms related confrontation on the Parapara highway sometime between 11.30pm Thursday and 1am Friday.
