RSBA chairwoman Sue Allomes said she was very pleased with the RSBA representation of two people. She said it finally recongised the hard work that the RSBA members had

done since its inception. The subcommittee will be delegated the authority to implement the parts of the corporate plan that relate to promotion and development of the district and public information services. The committee will co-ordinate the provision of services and the allocation of financial assistance. The past allocation of council funds and the formation of the committee was discussed at

last week's public meeting (see separate story). The meeting heard that the RSBA received much more direct support from businesses than the Taumarunui groups. "At present $14,000 is contributed from Ohakune," said Mrs Allomes. "If you applied those figures in Taumarunui the TDPDA should generate $40,000." "With the formation of the subcommittee those issues will be discussed openly and I don't see those incongruities continuing," said Mayor Workman. Mayor Workman said from now the subcommittee looks at all funding applications. "From now on no-one gets anything unless they can prove they can utilise it to good effect." . The first meeting of the committee was last week, 7 November.
